What to check in a Spanish venue contract before you sign
Deposits, curfews, compulsory suppliers and cancellation: what a lawyer reads first.
Venue contracts in Spain are written in Spanish and under Spanish law. Here's what I read first.
The deposit and payment schedule
How much, when, and what happens to it if the wedding moves or is cancelled.
Exclusivity and compulsory suppliers
Many venues require their own caterer or a list of approved suppliers.
Curfews and noise
When the music must stop, and what an extra hour costs.
Cancellation and changes
The terms vary widely. Better to know them before you sign than after.
General guidance only. Every contract is reviewed individually as part of the service and signed off by Scarlett as a lawyer.
