The Costa Blanca is my base. I'll plan your wedding around the town that feels like yours.

Why here

Whitewashed towns above the sea, coves you reach on foot, olive groves twenty minutes inland and evenings that stay warm long after dinner. All of it about an hour from an airport with flights from across the UK.

It's one of the sunniest corners of Europe, and it still feels like a secret.

1 hFrom the airport

Alicante airport is about an hour's drive from most of the coast.

2Airports

Alicante for most venues; Valencia for the northern end, around Jávea and Dénia.

+1 hAhead of the UK

Late sunsets: well after nine in midsummer.

Town by town

Six places, six kinds of wedding

Blue-domed church in Altea

Altea

A whitewashed old town crowned by blue domes, steep lanes full of bougainvillea and the sea right below. Effortlessly romantic, and perfect for photographs.

Clifftop villa in Jávea

Jávea · Xàbia

Coves, cliffs and private villas looking out to sea, beneath the Montgó. For weddings with a view and guests who stay all week.

Rocky Mediterranean shoreline

Moraira

Small, calm and elegant, with villas and vineyards nearby. For intimate, unhurried weddings.

The Peñón de Ifach

Calpe

The great rock of Ifach as your backdrop, and long dinners facing the water.

Benidorm skyline by the sea

Benidorm & Finestrat

Large hotels with gardens and room for bigger weddings, with everyone staying on site.

Alicante harbour from above

Alicante

A city with a castle, a harbour and the airport fifteen minutes away. Ideal for a welcome dinner.

Olive branch in the sun
01Inland

Among olive groves, twenty minutes from the sea

Behind the coast lie fincas among olive and almond trees, restored country houses and mountain villages like Guadalest. Cooler in summer, quieter at night, with a clear sky for the last dance.

Long dinner table with candles
02At the table

A menu that writes itself

Rice cooked by the sea, red prawns from Dénia, Moscatel from the Marina Alta and turrón from Xixona to finish. Local food is one of the best reasons to marry here, and your guests will remember it.

When to come

Month by month, the honest version

The question isn't whether the weather will be good. It's which kind of good you want.

Apr–May

Spring

Green hills, mild days and fewer crowds. Sunsets get later every week.

June

Long evenings

Warm days and light until well after nine. Ceremonies move later.

Jul–Aug

High summer

Hot and lively. Ceremonies towards sunset and shade designed in. Flights and rooms at their busiest.

September

Golden light

The sea at its warmest and the light at its softest. Many couples' favourite.

October

The quiet season

Soft light, a calmer coast and warm afternoons.

Nov–Mar

Out of season

Smaller, more intimate weddings, mild days and a solid indoor Plan B.

How a Spanish wedding runs

Weddings here start later and end later than at home. Your guests will love it if they know what to expect.

01

Early evening · The ceremony

Usually at the end of the afternoon, as the heat drops and the light turns gold.

02

Sunset · The cocktail hour

Drinks and food in the garden while the photographs are taken.

03

Night · Dinner

Long and late, often well after nine, with speeches between courses.

04

Late · The party

Open bar and dancing into the small hours, and a late-night snack for the brave.
